Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) introduced the Space Infrastructure Act, H.R. 1154, to direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to designate space systems, services and technology as a sector of critical infrastructure. Reps. Lieu (CA-36), Carbajal (CA-24), and Fitzpatrick (PA-1) are original cosponsors of the bill. Reps. Calvert and Lieu are Co-Chairs of the Congressional Aerospace Caucus.

“Michael Ellis is a terrific selection by President Trump to serve as Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. In his previous role as General Counsel for the House Intelligence Committee, Michael distinguished himself and proved invaluable to Committee members. Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) and Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) reintroduced legislation to support Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program (LCR MSCP) activities. The bill would establish an interest-bearing account at the Department of Treasury to hold the funds contributed by the states of Arizona, California, and Nevada for the LCR MSCP. Reps. Dina Titus (D-NV-1), Susie Lee (D-NV-3), Steven Horsford (D-NV-4), and Greg Stanton (D-AZ-4) are original cosponsors of the House bill, H.R. 831, introduced by Rep. Calvert.

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) voted along with a majority (264 to 159) of the House of Representatives to pass the Laken Riley Act, H.R. 29, legislation aimed at protecting Americans from criminal illegal immigrants. The bill would require the Department of Homeland Security to take into custody illegal immigrants who have been charged with, arrested for, or convicted of theft offenses, as was the case with Laken Riley’s killer. This legislation mandates that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detain such illegal immigrants until they can be removed from the country.
