Today, the House Appropriations Committee approved the Fiscal Year 2026 Defense Appropriations Bill introduced by Defense Subcommittee Chairman Ken Calvert.
Today, the House of Representatives unanimously passed the Secure Our Ports Act of 2025, H.R. 252, bipartisan legislation introduced by Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) earlier this year. H.R. 252 will strengthen our national security by prohibiting certain foreign entities, including state-owned enterprises of China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran, from entering into contracts for the ownership, leasing, or operation of U.S. port facilities that are subject to security plans.
Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) issued the following statement after voting to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act:
“I promised voters that if they sent me back to Congress, I would fight to keep their taxes low – and that’s exactly what this One Big Beautiful Bill does. The passage of the bill will prevent the looming tax increase that would be the largest in our nation’s history. Job growth, take-home pay, and economic opportunities hit historic highs following the passage of the 2017 tax cuts. This bill extends and expands those pro-worker and pro-family policies.
Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) and Congresswoman Norma Torres (CA-35) praised the advancement of H.R. 672 by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The bill requires the U.S. Postal Service to designate a single, unique ZIP Code for the city of Eastvale, in addition to other communities across the country. Reps. Calvert and Torres both represent portions of the city of Eastvale in the House of Representatives.
Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) joined together with Rep. Laural Lee (R-FL-15), Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ-4), and other House members to cosponsor the Canadian Snowbird Visa Act, H.R. 3070, a bipartisan bill to extend the duration Canadian citizens who own or lease a residence in the United States may stay—from 182 days to 240 days annually. Rep. Calvert is an original cosponsor of the bill.
Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) voted along with a majority (216 to 214) of the House of Representatives to pass the Senate Amendment to H. Con. Res. 14 – the FY25 Budget Resolution. The passage of the resolution activates the budget reconciliation process, which will allow subsequent tax and spending legislation to be passed by a simple majority vote in the Senate.

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) along with Congressman John Garamendi (CA-08) introduced legislation, H.R. 2093, to reform federal permitting standards for local wastewater treatment and water recycling projects. The legislation would extend the maximum term for certain permits issued under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program. Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA-08) is the Democratic co-lead of the bill, and Congressman David Rouzer (R-NC-07) is an original cosponsor.
Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) reintroduced the Ending Major Borderland Environmental Ruin from Wildfires (EMBER) Act, H.R. 2026, legislation to reduce the threat of wildfires along the southern border and protect the safety and mission of our Border Patrol officers. The bill is part of a larger legislative package dubbed the Federal Lands Amplified Security for the Homeland Act or the FLASH Act that was featured during a legislative hearing before the House Natural Resources Committee today.
