Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) issued the following statement after the House Appropriations Committee released the Fiscal Year 2024 bill that fully funds the Department of Veterans Affairs:
 

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) voted along with a majority (219 to 213) of the House of Representatives to approve the Secure the Border Act, H.R. 2. The bill includes Rep. Calvert’s legislation, the Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 2640), which ensures American jobs go to citizens and legal workers by requiring U.S. employers to check the work eligibility of all future hires through the E-Verify system.
