Rep. Calvert Urges Biden Administration to Approve Tropical Storm Hilary Disaster Declaration

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) issued the following statement in response to California’s request for a major disaster declaration for Riverside County, and other counties, as a result of Tropical Storm Hilary:

“Riverside County, and the Coachella Valley especially, continues to feel the impacts from Tropical Storm Hilary. Just last week, I joined community leaders in Coachella Valley to talk about the challenges from the continued closure of Indian Canyon Road and serious impacts it has on access to the community. I urge the Biden Administration to quickly approve California’s disaster declaration request so that Riverside County residents, communities and small businesses have access to additional resources and assistance.”

Rep. Calvert previously led a letter with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Reps. Valadao, Steel, Obernolte, Garcia, Kiley, and Kim urging President Biden to quickly approve a major federal disaster once requested.
