Rep. Calvert Votes to Keep Government Open and Approve Additional Disaster Funding

September 30, 2023

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) issued the following statement after voting along with a bipartisan majority of the House of Representatives to prevent a federal government shutdown and approve additional federal disaster funding:

“Today I voted for a 45-day stopgap funding measure that will keep our federal government open and serving you – the American taxpayer. This will allow Congress to continue to work on approving the twelve annual appropriations bills. This isn’t anything to celebrate. We have a lot of work left to do. As we continue that effort, I will keep fighting for fiscally responsible spending, strengthening America’s national security, securing our border, and stopping Joe Biden’s failed agenda. Make no mistake – the bill we passed today was a band-aid. I will keep working towards real solutions that solve America’s long-term challenges.”
