Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) introduced legislation, H.R. 5809, to name the Norco Post Office in honor of Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui. Lance Corporal Nikoui, a Norco resident, was killed during the August 26, 2021 Kabul terror attack while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. The bill will officially designate the U.S. Post Office located at 1801 Town and Country Drive as the Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui Memorial Post Office.

Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) and Congressman Mike Garcia (CA-25) have introduced legislation, H.R.5437, to award the Congressional Gold Medal to the U.S. Air Force aircrew of Reach 871 in recognition of their bravery and outstanding service during Operation Allies Refuge. During the non-combatant evacuation from Afghanistan, the crew of Reach 871 set a record by loading 823 individuals on to a flight, the most people ever flown on a C-17 Globemaster III. The crew is part of the 436th Air Wing based at Dover Air Force Base.

National security officials have confirmed to Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) that the ISIS-K bomber responsible for the August 26, 2021 terror attack at Kabul airport was carried out by an individual who was released from the Bagram prison shortly after the Taliban seized control of the facility on August 15, 2021. The U.S. military abruptly abandoned the facility in July of 2021.
