Rep. Calvert Statement on the Passing of Congressman Don Young

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) issued the following statement on the passing of Congressman Don Young, who represented Alaska in the House of Representatives since 1973:

"Don was a lion in the House and a dear, personal friend. He advocated fiercely for the people of Alaska and kept his fighting spirit and jovial demeanor until the very end. Our nation is stronger for his service.

Throughout his life, Don touched the lives of countless people, including mine. I send my heartfelt condolences and prayers to Don's wife, Anne, his family, friends, and loved ones.

I will deeply miss his friendship, good humor, passion for Alaska, and commitment to the House and our great nation."
