Rep. Calvert Highlights $18.6 Million in Local Projects Funded in the Fiscal Year 2022 Appropriations Bill

March 14, 2022

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) highlighted the inclusion of $18.6 million in Community Project Funding requests from the 42nd Congressional District he supported in the Fiscal Year 2022 Appropriations bill which was approved by the House of Representatives by a bipartisan vote.

"I'm happy to share that significant funding was included in the recently passed appropriations bill that will fund a number of important projects in the 42nd Congressional District," said Rep. Calvert. "Throughout the appropriations process I worked together with project sponsors to advocate for the value and need for these critical investments in our communities. These resources will now help build critical infrastructure, address healthcare challenges, and help address our homelessness crisis in our region. As a senior member of the Appropriations Committee I believe the new, transparent Community Project Funding process is far superior to allowing unelected bureaucrats to dole out federal tax dollars. I know the needs of my district and am proud to stand behind these vital funding requests."

The following Community Project Funding Requests from the 42nd Congressional District were included in the bill:

  • $2.5 million for the Quail Valley Septic-to-Sewer Conversion Project, which was requested by Eastern Municipal Water District
  • $780,000 for the Canyon Lake Water Treatment Plant Phase 1 Improvements Project, which was requested by Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District
