With premiums rising, deductibles increasing, and health care choices decreasing, American families know all too well that we must find health care solutions that increase access to care and lower costs. That's exactly why I am working with my colleagues to advance patient-centered health care solutions. Any reforms to our health care policies will continue to protect American families by ensuring people with pre-existing conditions are not denied heath care policies and allowing the coverage of dependents until they are 26 years old.

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) applauded the decision by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to award $ 2,353,139 to the Riverside County Department of Public Health to combat the opioid crisis. Riverside County is one of 16 localities nationwide to receive funding from the CDC.
Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) launched the new Congressional ALS Caucus along with Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-01), Representative Jason Crow (D-CO-06), and Representative Terri Sewell (D-AL-07).
The ALS Caucus will bring together members of Congress from both sides of the aisle to share experiences, exchange ideas, and work collaboratively to find a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The caucus was formed with the help of I AM ALS and many ALS advocacy groups, including The ALS Association and others.

Immigration
Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) voted along with a bipartisan majority (361 to 61) of the House of Representatives to approve the Conference Report to the Department of Defense, and the Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2019. Rep. Calvert is the Vice-Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and was a member of the Conference Committee for this bill.
