Representatives Ken Calvert and Norma Torres Introduce Legislation to Establish a Zip Code for the City of Eastvale
Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) reintroduced legislation, H.R. 696, to establish a unique zip code for the city of Eastvale. Rep. Norma Torres (CA-35) is the lead Democrat co-sponsor of the legislation.
“Since the city’s incorporation more than a decade ago, Eastvale residents, businesses, and elected leaders have repeatedly urged the U.S. Postal Service to address their need for a unique zip code,” said Rep. Calvert. “I agree with Eastvale and believe the Postal Service needs to act to reduce confusion, as well as address tax and insurance issues that are caused by residents and businesses sharing zip codes with other cities. It shouldn’t take an act of Congress for a government agency to do the right thing, but if that’s the case I’m happy to work with my colleagues, including Rep. Torres, to fight for a solution.”
“From day one, I have heard directly from Eastvale residents about the importance of this zip code issue and how it affects families, seniors, small businesses, and countless others. I believe in getting results for my constituents, and that is why I am joining Rep. Calvert today to introduce bipartisan legislation to establish a unique zip code for the city of Eastvale,” said Congresswoman Torres. “As the representative for California’s 35th District in Congress, I am committed to addressing the issues that matter to Inland Empire families and look forward to working across the aisle on this matter.”
Currently, the city of Eastvale is split between two zip codes, 91752 and 92880. The 91752 zip code is currently shared between Eastvale and the city of Jurupa Valley. The city of Eastvale incorporated in 2010 and has a population of approximately 70,000.
