Rep. Calvert Votes to Protect Americans from the Costly Overreach of Biden’s WOTUS Rule

March 9, 2023

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) voted along with a bipartisan majority (227 to 198) of the House of Representatives to approve H.J. Res. 27, which blocks the Biden Administration’s overreaching and damaging “Waters of the United States” or WOTUS rule. Rep. Calvert is a cosponsor of the resolution to overturn this rule and return control and common sense to small businesses and farmers at the local level.

“The Biden Administration’s WOTUS rule would dramatically expand the federal government’s authority over privately-owned lands and weaken their property rights,” said Rep. Calvert. “By targeting farmers and other small businesses and imposing costly regulations on their operations, the Biden Administration is once again taking nonsensical actions that are going to raise the cost of food and other goods. I don’t believe you need a bigger government to protect the environment and I hope my colleagues in the Senate feel similarly and move quickly to pass this resolution and put it on Biden’s desk for signature.”
