Rep. Calvert Statement on Speaker Kevin McCarthy

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) issued the following statement on Speaker Kevin McCarthy:

“It’s been an honor and a privilege to serve alongside Speaker Kevin McCarthy. During my time in the House of Representatives, I have seen few if any members work so tirelessly and with such determination to grow our majority and advance our Republican goals.

As Speaker McCarthy prepares to leave, let’s remember two facts. First, Republicans have our House majority thanks to Kevin McCarthy. Second, the removal of Kevin as Speaker has not advanced a single Republican policy goal.

I have a deep appreciation for Speaker McCarthy’s service to our country and the residents of California. And I am grateful to call him a friend. I look forward to our continued work together, in whatever form that may be, to pursue the causes of liberty and freedom that make America the greatest country in the world.”
