Rep. Calvert Secures $44.1 Million for 41st District Projects

March 6, 2024

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-41) voted along with a bipartisan majority (339 to 85) of the House of Representatives to pass H.R. 4366, The Consolidated Appropriations Act, which funds six annual appropriations bills. The bill includes $44.1 million for 41st District projects that Rep. Calvert requested and successfully advocated for inclusion in the bill. Approved federal funding requests by Members of Congress for local projects are allocated within their respective agency program accounts and do not raise the overall spending level of the bill.

“The bill approved by the House today is far from perfect, which is often the case when a compromise is struck,” said Rep. Calvert. “Despite only narrowly controlling one half of one third of the government, House Republicans have stopped runaway spending and kept funding levels under the President’s Budget Request by more than $100 billion and blocked efforts by the Senate to spend beyond the topline. The funding package represents the first overall cut to non-defense, non-VA spending in almost a decade – proving we can fund our priorities in a fiscally responsible way.”

TRANSPORTATION

“Riverside County continues to be one of the fastest growing regions in the state and country, which is why we need additional resources to build long-overdue infrastructure projects for our residents,” said Rep. Calvert. “My staff and I have worked collaboratively with the cities and transportation agencies in our district to prioritize the critical projects that are needed and eligible to receive federal funding. We have more work to do to relieve congestion in Riverside County, which is why I will continue to focus on real solutions that get people moving.”

Funding was included for the following 41st Congressional District transportation projects:

  • $5 million for the Coachella Valley Rail Project
  • $4 million for the Ontario Avenue / Interstate 15 Multimodal Corridor Enhancement Project in Corona
