Rep. Calvert Praises Air Force Selection of March ARB for KC-46 Location

January 24, 2022

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) praised the Air Force's selection of March Air Reserve Base (ARB) as the preferred location to host the next KC‐46A Pegasus aircraft. As a result of the decision, twelve KC‐46As will replace existing KC‐135s at March ARB.

Last year, Rep. Calvert spearheaded a bipartisan letter signed by members of the Southern California House Delegation to Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall in support of March ARB being selected as an operating base for the KC-46 tanker. Rep. Calvert has regularly advocated for basing KC-46 tankers at March ARB with senior military leaders and worked in partnership with local stakeholders for many years on this matter.

"The Air Force's decision will ensure that March ARB's contribution to our national security will continue with a new generation of tankers," said Rep. Calvert. "I was proud to lead a bipartisan letter along with my Southern California House colleagues last year and advocate for March ARB as a strategic location for these essential aircraft. Our region and the Defense Department have made critical investments in and around March ARB, putting it in an excellent position to play a vital role in the defense of our country well into the future."
