February 5, 2021

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) announced he has introduced legislation, H.R. 797, to name the Murrieta postal facility located at 24930 Washington Avenue in honor of the Riverside County veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. This bill would designate the post office as the "Riverside County Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans Memorial Post Office." The following members are original cosponsors of H.R. 797: Tom McClintock (CA-4), Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11), Jim Costa (CA-16), Ro Kahanna (CA-17), Devin Nunes (CA-22), Ted Lieu (CA-33), and Alan Lowenthal (CA-47).

"Riverside County veterans proudly served our nation and significantly contributed to our successful missions throughout the Iraq and Afghanistan wars," said Rep. Calvert. "Naming this facility in honor of our veterans is a small token of our appreciation for their tremendous bravery, patriotism and dedication to causes greater than their own. Our region has a long history of supporting our military and veterans. Taking this action is yet another way of honoring the service of these exemplary Americans."
